reading

因為我比較懶, 一直也沒有堅持寫 blog 的習慣. 現在的我會開始寫blog, 談談自己的人生觀與日常見聞. 寫blog 的好處是提供了個免費的心理治療. 把自己的感覺, 煩惱, 通通寫出來, 把想說的說, 人自然會輕鬆了.
 
因為minor 英文的關係, 最近看了很多小說, 著名文學. 一直不喜歡看書的我漸漸感受到閱讀的樂趣與得著. 每一次看完一本書後, 會得到一種成就感, 更重要的是當你看完一本好書之後, 你總會有些得著, 從而令你自我反思自己的人生. 最近讀過的書中, 我會推介
"regeneration" -- a book about soldiers in WWI who have mental disorder and require to stay in a amry mental health hospital
"The things they carry" --another excellent book about war story
"Canterbury Tales" -- more than 30 middle englsih short stories. Very Classics. The Kight Tales gave me an echo of "Oddessy"
***"Jane Eyre" 簡愛-- a classic love story. Jane has a poor children, but she is a very tough little girl. When she grows up, she becomes a governess and then fell in love with her rich handsome master, Edward. However, many accidents happen between the couple and become the barriers for them to be togehter. Finally, Edward lost one hand and turns blind in a fire, but Jane doesn't leave him, instead, she marries him immediately. Although she marries a disable man, she feels that this moment is the happiest time in her life. At the very last Jane says "I know no weariness of my Edward's society: he knows none of mine, any more tahn we each do of the pulsation of the heart that beats in our separate bosoms; consequently, we are ever together... ...we talk, all day long: to talk to each other is but a more animated and an audible thinking. All my confidence is bestowed on him; all his confidence is devoted to me; we are precisely suited in character - perfect concord is the result".
 
this book makes me really think about my own relationship problems.
 
Now, I am trying to read a book called "the five people you meet in heaven". But I am so lazy recently, so the reading speed is extremely slow, but I think it's a intersteing book.

Pork&Cranberry Rolls
8x12g pork steaks
1/2 cup honey, melted
Steamed greem and Yellow zucchini and carrot to serve stuffing.
3 cups stale breadcrumbs
1/2 cup light olive oil
1/2 cup walnuts, coarely chopped
1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoons wholegrain mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
GRAVY
3/4 cup Gravox chicken instant gravy mix 3 cups boiling water.
1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce

  1. To make the stuffing, combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Lay pork on a flat chopping board. Spoon stuffing mixture down the centre of each piece of pork, roll up   pork to enclose filling securing each with kitchen string. Place pork rolls on an aven tray brush all over with a little of the honey.
  3. Cook in a moderate oven (180C) for about 20 mins or until tender, brushing occasionally with remaining honey during cooking.
  4. To make the gravy, whish Gravoz and water together in a small saucepan over heat. Simmer whisking continuously until smooth. Whish in cranberry sauce until heated through.
  5. Remove and discard kitchen string from pork. Serve pork with gravy and steamed zucchini and carrot.
